What In Carnation?

Hey there! I have finally launched my long-awaited flower business! I have been marinating in the idea to start a floral business since 2016. Then finally decided to take it more seriously in the year 2017 when I did my first ever wedding completely by myself in Ontario!

Let me just say, that this has not been an easy ride! However, to be here is completely worth it!

I have quite literally put my blood, sweat and tears into putting this together, but I am absolutely stoked to be here! It was really important for me to have my whole brand completely finished before officially launching any part of my business. I have learned that creating a business is so much more than slapping a logo onto a new Instagram account.

It is about taxes, opening a business bank account, meeting with accountants, reaching out to other florists to ask questions, learning how to properly price myself and learning about whole new industries (both wedding and floral). It was constantly asking if I was going to go to prison if I filled out a legal document wrong… (no joke). It was learning how to register a business name. It was learning the extreme sport of loading flowers into my car. It was loading my car, driving 5 minutes away and realizing that I forgot boutonnieres at home. It was being absolutely mentally and physically exhausted after doing weddings for free to gain experience.

It was working at my full-time job as a youth pastor during the day, and then heading to Cafe Amarti any free evening I had in order to work on building the brand, as well as plan the weddings I had taken on. This was no easy task. BUT NOW…

I am stoked to say good-bye to the days I had to say that I didn’t have a business card or a website done yet, and I am happy to now say that I am officially serving you all your floral needs!
